Joe Habben is a British photographic artist based in Venice, Italy.

His practice explores socio-environmental topics through the lens of culture and community, tracing the reciprocal relationship between natural and urban environments. Joe’s recent projects engage with themes of human intervention, public space and the climate crisis.
Joe participated in the Fabrica Research Centre residency in Treviso, Italy (2023-24). Joe is currently based in Venice, where he is developing ongoing projects whilst participating in the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa Atelier (2024–25).
His work has been exhibited at ARTEFIERA, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Royal Geographical Society, and Street Level Photoworks. His work has been featured by the British Journal of Photography, PhMuseum, VICE, Creative Review, La Repubblica, and The Guardian. Joe’s series In Moleca won the Earth Photo: A Climate of Change award (2021).
Working between commercial and nonprofit sectors, Joe’s clients include KesselsKramer, United Nations FCC, Bloomberg, Venezia FC, The Scottish FA and The Dalmore Whisky.
He founded Catalyst Studios (2020-25), a non-profit, co-working space that supported Glasgow's creative community and fostered local talent in Scotland.
